MIMO techniques are ubiquitous in "next generation" wireless system
designs and a significant amount of attention is given to the claimed
benefits of this feature in technical and marketing literature.  Of
course benefits of MIMO in certain conditions are well known; the
question becomes how prevalent such conditions are seen in a real
wireless environment.  The UMB prototype system gives an opportunity
to study MIMO performance in a real wireless network, and this talk
presents our initial findings.
