Recent work has shown an unexpected linkage between fundamental theoretical physics and error correcting codes which suggests that a digital description of the universe may be possible in the form of generalized networks (of second quantized field operators which generalize the wave function of quantum mechanics) inter-relationships called Adinkras. That is, the structure of the universe seems based on doubly error correcting codes. This talk is an attempt to bridge the (illusory!) chasm between string theory and communication theory in a way that allows access to a realm previously unexplored by communication theorists. If time permits, we may also discuss potential reasons for error correction as building block of reality.
