We consider zero-error transmission for a primitive relay channel, a relay channel in which the relay to destination link is a perfect bit-pipe of finite capacity, and is out of band with respect to the source to (relay, destination) links. We characterize the minimum number of bits needed on the relay to destination link to achieve the single input multiple output outer bound.
